Since 1955, Wolfson Children's Hospital has been a place of hope, second chances, and medical miracles for countless children and their families. Motivated by the idea that every child deserves another birthday, the Wolfson Children's Challenge is a celebration of kids’ lives, health and well-being. Every year, this symbolic event features 55 children who share their inspiring stories.
As a not-for-profit hospital, Wolfson Children's relies on the generosity of people like you to ensure that every child continues to receive the world-class care they deserve, right here in Jacksonville, Florida. You can support the Wolfson Children's Challenge by sponsoring the event, running the 55K ultra marathon, organizing a relay team for the 55K ultra marathon, running the individual 30K, participating in the 1-Mile Fun Run, fundraising or just taking part in the family-friendly event.
The inspiration for the Wolfson Children's Challenge came from Paul Wilson, whose newborn son, Luke, faced difficult surgery within hours of birth. Paul hoped to raise $5,000 by running 55 miles, the age of the hospital during his son's stay.
Since then, the Wolfson Children’s Challenge has raised nearly $3 million for life-saving technology for children. Watch the video to find out more about the Wolfson Children’s Challenge.
